Isabellas Moral Dilemma in Measure for Measure   O cunning enemy that, to catch a saint, with saints dost bait thy hook. A disturbing tale of suspense, dark comedy and corruption, Shakespeares Measure for Measure explores sexuality, morality and the law, exposing the abuse of business office in high places amid the seething underworld of Vienna. This essay will explore Isabellas moral dilemma.   In the play, Claudio has been sentenced to death for getting his fiancee pregnant (his offense was not so much getting her pregnant, alone having sex with her at all). Claudios sister, Isabella, who is in the exploit of joining a nunnery, feels that Claudio has done wrong, has sinned and committed a crime, but she feels that the sentence--death--is too strict. So, she goes to the ruler of the city, Angelo, to plead for her brothers life. The previously virtuous Angelo falls into lust with Isabella, and he propositions her to save her brother by having sex with him (Angelo).
